WW Want To Know Say it Loud Call for Entry

CALL FOR ENTRY

I. We would like to compile a book on women and their experiences of being on welfare.  People on welfare are human beings and not just statistics.  The goal for this book is to present these people in a positive light and shed truth on the subject of the welfare system.  Additionally, once complete, this book may be used to implement change within the bureaucratical welfare system and raise consciousness amongst the general population on the realities of people on welfare.

While we realize this is  a very sensitive issue, we still think there is a need to tell the truth and share the experience.  If you like to tell your story and help shed light, please forward your story in a text or word document to
WarriorWomenPlease be as detailed as possible.  Your story may include, for example, your experiences with social workers, treatments by colleagues, medical institutions, financial institutions, college institutions, how people who are not on welfare treat you, the lost of friends or families, landlord issues, etc.

Before using your story you will be contacted for permission as well as for clearance in the usage of your name.  We will not use your story or your name without your consent.

With this call for entry and the completion of this book, we hope to bring forth an issue that has been overlooked and under represented within our society.

II. Tell us which warrior woman you admire.  Is she your mother?  Your high school counselor? A dear friend?  A friend's mother?  Your sister?  An African American author?  An Indian American activist?  Give her the props she deserves.  Share the experience of how she changed or influenced your life.  Tell us why you admire and love her.  Send your story to Warrior Women and we'll post it up.
